Martin Chambers

Martin’s stories are a soft blend of humour and detail, a mix that inspires readers to ‘I can do that!’ Sometimes all we need is the spark and it was for that reason Martin first wrote the Canoe and Kayak guide to Western Australia.

When not paddling, cycling or sailing Martin writes fiction that is fuelled by his adventures. His novel ‘How I became the Mr Big of People Smuggling’, set in the outback Northern Territory, was shortlisted for the TAG Hungerford award where the judges said it gave the uncanny feeling it could all be true.

From cycling sand tracks in the Kimberley, first descents in New Guinea or month long canoe trips in Mongolia he says if he can do it, anybody can.
