So what’s in the tote?

The Ortlieb 10L folding basin is a beauty. It’s shape and high sides make it really easy to get the dishes done and dusted. The handles make for an easy carry to dump wash up water or if you want to collect water for camp from a creek. The PVC is bombproof, unlike every single plastic bowl that has come and gone through our setup previously. Give it a quick wipe, fold it down and pack it away. 

We take one sponge with a gentle side and a more muscular side, it does the trick with everything. Our dish washing liquid travels in a Human Gear GoToob. These are great. The bottle is soft for squeezing and under the lid is a little soft valve that allows for controlled dosage without drips. We also use a biodegradable detergent, for more guilt free dumping of waste water – away from water sources! 

Tea towels seem to get wet and dirty. Three seems to be the magic number for us, whether the trip is short or long. We found these ones which are 73% Polyester and 27% Polyamide. They are just as absorbent as cotton, however dry really quickly and don’t seem to get dirty as quickly. Being quick drying also makes them easier to wash more regularly on the road.

All packed up and ready to go! This kit fits neatly in to a 4WD drawer, or anywhere, so ease to use and really compact.
