The doors recently opened to the Safari ARMAX Performance Centre, a customer-facing workshop based at Safari’s Melbourne HQ.

I had a sneak peek at the workshop prior to opening earlier in the year, and the Safari team ran me through the inspiration for the centre.

With strong demand for the complete ARMAX range (ECU, Snorkel and Clutch), the new centre is positioned to support customers with the installation process.

The Safari ARMAX ECU can be easily calibrated by their fitting network to perform superbly with common modifications like high flow snorkels and DPF back exhausts. For most travellers, that offers plenty of additional performance, but those looking for even more power need a bespoke process.

At the Safari ARMAX Performance Centre, the team can offer larger turbo’s, intercoolers and injectors. The ARMAX ECU is then live tuned on their state-of-the-art dynamometer. The dynamometer is paired with a proportional road speed fan to ensure accurate real-world performance. It’s the same unit that is used by their R&D Team.

Like the entire Safari facility, the Performance Centre is world-class. The team have a Formula 1 approach to their work. The workshops are spotless and equipped with high-quality tools.

Safari’s Engineering Director, Duane Evans, comes from a rallying background and is a wealth of knowledge. He was quick to give my Cruiser a health check while I was in town.
